Coaching for Expats

It can be quite challenging to transition into living in a new country when you don’t speak the language and don’t know how things work there. The move can make you feel lost at times while having to readjust to a new way of life, build up a new social network, and get used to a completely new culture and its customs.

In this case, Coaching can be very helpful for the expat, the expat’s partner, and the expat’s children. I can help you find your way here, give you information about the school system, help find a school for your kids, and tell you how things work here. Besides this, I also offer Life Coaching and Career coaching.

Coaching for Kids

For young expat kids (4-12) and teenagers (13-18), it can be quite challenging to adjust to a new country.  Such a change presents a lot of challenges for them being confronted with a different country, a different language, a whole new culture, and a new school. Some kids naturally feel lost or experience problems at home or at school. I address issues including adjustment and integration issues, low self-esteem, fear of failure, and dealing with issues that sensitive kids and teens often deal with in this transition.

For expat teens at a Dutch school, it can also be challenging to make the right ‘profile choice’ (the Dutch term used for choosing their education track).  When you don’t have the right profile, it becomes harder or even impossible to go to a certain college or university later on. So it’s key to make an informed profile choice.  I can help your teen make the right profile choice. Furthermore, after graduation when your teen wants to go to college or university, I can help to choose what to study afterward and choose what really suits him or her.  At DUTCH NOW, when making the choice for high education, we focus on your teenager’s strengths, passions, and personality in making an informed choice.
